When the seasons change, so should the products you use. You may require heavier or lighter creams, conditioners, shampoos, etc. depending on your skin or hair type. Ask your hair and skin care specialist to recommend products that are right for your hair and skin needs each season.

HAIR FITNESS

With Summer behind us its time to get your hair back into shape.  The sun, pool, beach and heat damage even the most gorgeous locks.  The first step to hair fitness is a great trim to get rid of any frizzy or split ends caused by summer fun.  If hair is in very bad condition you should consider a shock treatment or one of our other reconditioning or hydrating treatments.  We offer a number of hair treatments to get your tresses back into shape.  Ask your stylist can recommend the best treatment for your type of hair.

During the Fall and Winter hair can become dry and full of static.  One way to combat dry, brittle hair and static is to use products that contain moisturizers.    Styling products that contain moisturizers are also important to help prevent split ends.  Ask about Riccardo's exclusive hair care line that contains natural botanicals, moisturizers and SPF.

The old wives tale about brushing your hair 100 strokes every night is definitely a myth.  Brushing your hair too much can actually cause split ends breakage and static,  so don't over brush your hair.   Be sure to use combs with smooth, wide-set teeth; When choosing a brush avoid nylon bristles especially when at the beach or pool. We recommend boar bristles for styling and wide toothed combs for combing.   If you have tangles use a dab of leave in conditioner and comb your hair gently.  It is best to do this in sections (right, left, middle) and detangle the ends first (with one hand hold apart your section.  Hold hair closer to the bottom detangle the ends, then move your hand further up in that section and detangle.  Continue until you complete all sections.

It is important to cut your hair regularly to trim off split or dead ends.  In between hair cuts we recommend a leave-in conditioner or styling products that have moisturizers which can smoothen the hair and can temporarily seal the split ends.

Beauty Tips

Your haircut and color should not only compliment your skin tone and eye color, but your facial features and personality. Be sure your stylist and colorist take these into consideration when designing your look.

Use a leave in conditioner or treatment with sunscreen agents on your hair all year long. The conditioner or treatment will protect your hair from sun damage as well as the harsh effects of the heat, sea, and chlorine it will also protect your hair from the cold, snow, and wind. Leave in conditioners also help combat winter static.

It is important to change products occasionally to maintain your hair at its healthiest.  Hair can become resistant to products after long term use.  Changing products can help to revitalize the hair.

There is an order to applying make-up, if you do not do it properly your make-up may not last throughout the day. Our make-up consultant suggests beginning with the eyes by applying concealer on and underneath your eyes, then blend well and set with a nude eye shadow. When applying the shadow apply a medium shade of color on the eyelid then a darker color in the crease and a lighter color on the eyebrow bone. Next is the eyeliner and mascara. Once your done with the eyes apply foundation, powder and blush. Lastly, apply lip liner and lipstick.

Our consultant prefers using powdered eyeliner. Apply the liner by tapping the brush to your eye, do not use strokes you want to gently dot or tap the brush across the lashes to prevent the powder from flaking across your face  Otherwise you can use eyeliner that is semi soft. A liner that is too soft will run and one that is too hard will fade or will be difficult to apply. The pencil eyeliner is ideal when lining the inner eye.
