Ideology: Beauty for your lifestyle
The foundation for each style obtained at the salon is an understanding
of the individual client and his or her lifestyle. Riccardo and
his stylists spend time with each client to ascertain each person's
"look" (trendy, conservative, edgy, etc.) and how to enhance their
natural attributes with a new hairstyle. Each client is asked questions
about their current lifestyle to determine his or her daily shampooing/styling
regimen as well as whether the desired hairstyle will work with
their lifestyle and time allocated to styling the hair. In addition,
Riccardo Maggiore believes in allowing his stylists to express their
individual talent and creativity with each client.
"We start by looking at clients' natural attributes, and create
a style that brings out the best in the individual," explains
Maggiore. "We look at how they really live, and then create
a beauty regimen that works within those boundaries."
After the initial consultation, Riccardo begins his cuts by asking
his clients to stand, and he commences to cut on wet hair. When
the bulk of the cut is completed, he then dries and styles the hair.
Finally, Maggiore completes the cut by texturizing and perfecting
the style on dry hair. Riccardo uses a special cutting method that
gives hair the right equilibrium of texture and movement, allowing
the hair to fall naturally and beautifully.
Riccardo Maggiore and his staff cater to a wide variety of clientele
including Hollywood and TV celebrities, TV producers, Business executives,
business owners, Executives from the beauty industry, artist, musicians
and many others. We create beauty for your lifestyle so whether
you're a wall street executive, a secretary, an actor, a stay at
home mother, or a business owner we can create a style that is all
your own.
Riccardo Maggiore
Born and raised in Catania, Sicily, Riccardo Maggiore began styling
at the early age of fourteen. At fifteen, he moved north to Milan
in pursuit of a career in the high-profile fashion industry. Training
in Milan's most fashionable salons by day, and attending the prestigious
Centro Style Moda School by
night, Riccardo honed his craft and quickly gained a steady client
list and a reputation as a skilled young artist.
Noted for his precise, versatile cuts and fashion-forward styling,
Riccardo was soon invited to style at various fashion shows, including
Laura Biagiotti, Missoni, and
Armani. Over the next few years,
Riccardo became a styling instructor, won a number of awards, and
worked with industry legends including Vidal
Sassoon, Louis Longueras, and Aldo
Coppola. During this time, Riccardo was encouraged to bring
his talent to America.
Once in New York, Riccardo quickly established himself as an artist
and worked at some of the most prestigious salons in midtown Manhattan.
Again, his ingenuity led to runway jobs for Escada,
Bill Blass, and Geoffrey Beene,
as well as advertising and editorial work. In 1995, after years
of dedication, creativity, and superior styling, Riccardo opened
his own full-service Manhattan salon.
Believing that individuals' looks should compliment their lifestyle,
Riccardo spends time with each client to understand their daily
lives and styling needs. Riccardo also takes into consideration
his clients' physical attributes and thus tailors his styles to
accentuate their inherent beauty.
In addition to acting as owner, stylist, and colorist at the Riccardo
Maggiore Salon, Riccardo has offered his time and services in various
philanthropic ventures, including the American Cancer Society, A
